We care about your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights related to your data.

Who We Are

Our website address is: https://the406life.com.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you’re using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture (if connected to Gravatar) is visible to the public next to your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid including images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from those images.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we’ll set a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we’ll set cookies to save your login info and display preferences. Login cookies last two days; display options last one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.

If you edit or publish a post, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves as if the visitor has visited that website.

These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content—including tracking if you’re logged in to that external site.

Who We Share Your Data With

We don’t sell, rent, or share your information with third parties. The only exception is if you request a password reset—your IP address will be included in the reset email. Visitor comments may also be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them for moderation.

If you register on our site (if applicable), we store the personal information you provide in your user profile. You can view, edit, or delete your personal info at any time (except your username). Site admins can also see and edit that information.

Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold, including data you provided. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This doesn’t include data we must retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

We do not share your email address with anyone, and we do not send spam. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time via the link in the email or by contacting us directly.
